Youth Summit
We are planning to hold a youth summit in October 2010 using the fabulous new Wirral Christian Centre building on Woodchurch Road. The dates are set and we are definitely going for it but I would like you to help us make it happen by giving us your thoughts on the following proposal. All that follows is open to comment, query and questioning.
Name: Catalyst Youth Summit
Accommodation: Groups will be encouraged to stay over and will be sleeping on the 5* floor at the Christian Centre. Lads and Girls will be in separate rooms. Those who don’t wish to stay will also be welcome to attend.
Cost: Tell me what you think? Bear in mind that Y-Friday are checking their availability for me and that will incur quite high costs (We think £25)
Workshops & Speakers: Again tell me what you think – what workshops and shall we go for local people to speak or look to get some keynote speakers
Social Action: We are in touch with a number of people at the moment and we are looking at potential social action projects within walking distance of Wirral Christian Centre. Each of the delegates will have a printed t-shirt and we will get some banners done so that people know who we are and what we stand for. There will also be an opportunity for a group of young people to do an outreach/evangelism activity in the town centre instead of the social action project if they prefer.
That’s as far as we have got at the moment but the dates are certain so if you could get this in your diary now and in your youth program for next year I would be very grateful. In the coming months those who wish to come on board will begin to meet and we will draw up a project management plan to do all we can to ensure the success of the week.
Let me know what you think?

I think that sounds great and is very encouraging to see, £25 is not a lot for a weekend including a band.
If the young people are in work or have other commitments during the day that weekend (eg rugby/football matches) will they be able to come just to the concert bit of it or take part in the bits they are able to? If so what would the cost of that be?
Its a good point Mark. In order to make the concerts a success we will probably need to invite more than those attending the full summit. Perhaps we could charge £7 just for one concert or £12 for both but include this cost in the charge for those attending the full hit. In terms of people dropping in and out as time allows, I guess places at the sessions should be free unless they stay over or eat with us. For those workshops which have limited numbers (ie dance workshops), the full hit folks would get first refusal. Great Question! What do others think?
Hey, do people realise its not a weekend. Its Thur – Sat in the half-term week.
Sounds good 25 quid for Yfriday is high cost i do agree!!
Liverpool yfc could possible bring the cage along to do some outreach if you want? Also matt moreton from liverpool lighthouse might be good to contact martin!
